A method for a magnetic head arm assembly (HAA) comprising:
- coupling a load beam portion to a suspension arm portion via welding to form a suspension assembly, said suspension arm portion having a Young's Modulus(Y)-to-density(D) ratio of at least 100 Mpsi/(lb/in3) and a thickness at least 2.5% the length of the HAA from an axis of rotation to a magnetic head.
