Abstract
An apparatus, system, and method for an optical assembly providing illumination to subpixels of a pixel in a manner to complement characteristics of the subpixels are disclosed herein.
Claims30
An apparatus comprising:
- an illumination module adapted to produce a first and a second illumination bundle;
- and
- an optical assembly adapted
- to receive the first and second illumination bundles,
- to present the first illumination bundle to a first subpixel of a pixel, the first subpixel having a first characteristic, and the first illumination bundle being presented in a manner to complement the first characteristic;
- and
- to present the second illumination bundle to a second subpixel of a pixel, the second subpixel having a second characteristic, and the second illumination bundle being presented in a manner to complement the second characteristic.

A method comprising:
- producing first and second illumination bundles within first and second wavelength ranges, respectively;
- presenting the first and second illumination bundles to first and second subpixels of a pixel, in a manner to complement first and second characteristics of the first and second subpixels, respectively.
A system comprising:
- an illumination module adapted to produce first and second illumination bundles;
- a pixel, having a first subpixel with a first characteristic and a second subpixel with a second characteristic, optically coupled to the illumination module and adapted to receive and to modulate the first and second illumination bundles;
- and
- an optical assembly optically coupled to the illumination module and to the pixel and adapted
- to receive the first and second illumination bundles from the illumination module,
- to present the first illumination bundle to the first subpixel in a manner to complement the first characteristic;
- and
- to present the second illumination bundle to the second subpixel in a manner to complement the second characteristic.
