Abstract
Individual pairs of shoes are packaged in bags instead of individual shoe boxes. Each shoe bag can be decoratively printed with, e.g., product logos or other information identifying the manufacturer of the shoes contained in the bag. The bags are made from paper and/or other types of materials. One or more display subunits are used to hold multiple bagged shoe pairs. The display subunits may be used to place shoe bags into shelves designed for shoe boxes, as well as to create free-standing displays.
Claims22
A method of packaging pairs of shoes, comprising the steps of:
- creating a group of retail shoe pair packages, each of the retail shoe pair packages of the group including a pair of shoes placed in a paper bag such that at least a portion of at least one shoe of each shoe pair in each package is externally visible when that package is removed from a master outer carton;
- and
- creating a shipment package, the shipment package including the retail shoe pair packages of the group placed into the master outer carton.
A method comprising the steps of:
- receiving a plurality of master outer cartons, each of the master outer cartons including a plurality of retail shoe pair packages, each of the retail shoe pair packages including a paper bag having a single pair of shoes placed therein;
- receiving a plurality of display subunits;
- positioning the display subunits one on top of another;
- removing retail shoe pair packages from the master outer cartons;
- and
- arranging the removed packages in the display subunits such that at least a portion of at least one shoe of the shoe pair in each removed package is externally visible.
A retail shoe package, comprising:
- a paper bag having a pair of shoes placed therein;
- at least one handle;
- and
- an affixed tag having indicia thereon, the indicia containing at least one of a product name for the shoes, a product number for the shoes, descriptive information about the shoes, a size of the shoes and an identity of a manufacturer of the shoes.
A packaging system for a plurality of shoe pairs, comprising:
- a plurality of retail shoe pair packages, each of said packages including a single shoe pair of the plurality disposed within a bag;
- and
- a master outer carton, the master outer carton containing the plurality of retail shoe pair packages, wherein
- the plural retail shoe pair packages are arranged in an array, and
- as to each of the plural retail shoe pair packages, at least a portion of at least one of the shoes within that package is externally visible when that package is removed from the master outer carton.
A packaging system for a plurality of shoe pairs, comprising:
- a plurality of retail shoe pair packages, each of said packages including a single shoe pair of the plurality disposed within a bag, and wherein, for each retail shoe pair package,
- the shoes of the shoe pair contained in that package are nested in a toe over heel configuration,
- a portion of the rear of one of the shoes contained therein is visible externally from the shoe pair package when said shoe pair package is not contained within another package, and
- the bags of each of the shoe pair packages are formed from paper and have attached handles;
- and
- a plurality of display subunits, each subunit of the plurality being sized to support multiple retail shoe pair packages arranged in a horizontal row, each subunit of the plurality being further configured for vertical stacking with one or more similar display subunits, wherein
- the plurality of retail shoe pair packages are located within the plurality of display subunits,
- the plurality of display subunits are stacked and wrapped with a packaging material.
