Abstract
This is a device for cutting small trees and brush from an upright, comfortable position. Using a raised pivot point and opposing parallel blades this device cuts the target at or near ground level. With existing loppers and trimmers, you are unable to clear larger brush without squatting or bending to place the blades near the ground. With this tool you shove the bottom blade into place with one foot, place one foot on the rear deck, pull the long handle that is waist high and cut the sapling with very little expended energy.
Claims6
A device that will cut small trees and shrubs at or near ground level.
The user can operate the device without bending or squatting.
With only one moving component, the device is easy to build at a nominal cost.
Utilizing a raised fulcrum and a long handle it requires minimum effort to operate.
A fixed blade on the bottom section is moved into a cutting position behind the target with one foot. This blade firmly holds the tree in place and severs half the trunk as the pivoting rear blade finishes the cut.
By using lightweight metal alloys for construction, the Brush Buster will be easily moved from one small tree to the next.
