Abstract
Various embodiments of a method, apparatus and article of manufacture of managing statistics in a database management system are provided. A volatility of at least one of statistic is determined. One or more statistics collection tasks are generated based on, at least in part, the volatility.

A method of managing statistics in a database management system, comprising:
- determining a volatility of at least one statistic;
- and
- generating one or more statistics collection tasks based on, at least in part, said volatility.
An article of manufacture comprising a computer program usable medium embodying one or more instructions executable by a computer for managing statistics in a database management system, said method comprising:
- determining a volatility of at least one statistics;
- and
- generating one or more statistics collection tasks based on, at least in part, said volatility.
