Abstract
A digital miter saw for cutting a workpiece includes a base, a member supported on the base and moveable relative to the base, and a cutting member moveable with the member. A detector is provided for detecting at least one of a miter angle and a bevel angle between the cutting member and the workpiece, and for outputting a signal indicative of the at least one detected angle, and a digital controller is provided which has an interface operable to receive the signal.
Claims29
A digital miter saw for cutting a workpiece comprising:
- a base;
- a member supported on said base and moveable relative to said base;
- a cutting member moveable with said member;
- a detector for detecting at least one of a miter angle and a bevel angle between said cutting member and said workpiece, and for outputting a signal indicative of the at least one detected angle;
- and
- a digital controller having an interface operable to receive the signal.
A digital miter saw for cutting a workpiece comprising:
- a base;
- a member supported on said base and moveable relative to said base;
- a cutting member moveable with said member;
- a digital display for displaying at least one of a miter angle and a bevel angle of the cutting member relative to a workpiece supported on said base;
- and
- a digital controller having an interface, said digital controller being operable to control said display through said interface.
A digital miter saw for cutting a workpiece comprising:
- a base;
- a first member supported on said base and moveable relative to said base;
- a second member extending from and moveable relative to said base;
- a cutting member moveable with said first member and supported by said first member;
- a first detector and a second detector for detecting a miter angle and a bevel angle between said cutting member and said workpiece respectively, and for outputting first and second signals indicative of detected miter angle and bevel angle;
- and
- a digital controller having an interface operable to receive the first and second signals and for generating position information of said first and second members relative to said base.
A digital miter saw for cutting a workpiece comprising:
- a base;
- a member supported on said base and moveable relative to said base;
- a cutting member moveable with said member;
- a detector for producing a signal indicative of at least one of a miter angle and a bevel angel;
- a memory containing data relating the signal to the at least one of a miter angel and a bevel angel;
- and
- a digital controller operable to receive the signal and to access said memory to output angle information.
