Abstract
The Fitness Device comprises a back contacting member and a leg contacting member, with a pivotally mounted contacting member that is attached to said back contacting member. When driven by a motor or hand-operated power source, said pivotally mounted contacting member causes the position of said back contacting member relative to said leg contacting member to change, applying more or less pressure to the user's back (depending on the movement of said back contacting member) and thereby allowing the user's back to stretch relative to said leg contacting member.
Claims26
A fitness device for use by a person, comprising:
- a) a back contacting member for contacting at least a portion of the user's back, said back contacting member defining a first plane;
- b) a second contacting member for contacting at least a portion of the legs of the user, said second contacting member defining a second plane relative to said first plane;
- c) a pivotable connecting member for connecting said back contacting member with said leg contacting member so that said back contacting member is pivotable relative to said leg contacting member, said pivotable connecting member defining an axis;
- d) one or more drive mechanisms attached to said back contacting member such that operation of said drive mechanisms cause said back contacting member to pivot on said axis.
A fitness device for use by a person, comprising:
- a) a back contacting member for contacting at least a portion of the user's back, said back contacting member defining a first plane;
- b) a second contacting member for contacting at least a portion of the legs of the user, said second contacting member defining a second plane relative to said first plane;
- c) a pivotable connecting member for connecting said back contacting member with said second contacting member so that said back contacting member is pivotable relative to said second contacting member, said pivotable connecting member defining an axis;
- d) one or more drive mechanisms, each having a threaded shaft running through a correspondingly threaded nut that is fixably attached to said back contacting member at a point on said back contacting member that is distant from said pivotable connecting member;
- e) wherein operation of said drive mechanisms causes each of said threaded nuts to move along said threaded shaft and causes said back contacting member to pivot on said axis.
A fitness device for use by a person, comprising:
- a) a back contacting member for contacting at least a portion of the user's back, said back contacting member defining a first plane;
- b) a pivotable connecting member attached to said back contacting member;
- c) a mounting bracket member suitably designed to hold said pivotable connecting member in a manner permitting said pivotable connecting member to pivot about and define an axis, said mounting bracket member also being suitably designed to attach to an existing table or similarly-configured structure, such table or structure when in use defining a second plane with respect to said back contacting member;
- d) at least one drive mechanism attached to said mounting bracket member such that operation of said drive mechanism engages said pivotable connecting member and causes said pivotable connecting member to pivot on said axis.
