Abstract
The present invention relates to compounds of formula I wherein R1, R2, and Ar; are as defined in the specification. The invention also provides pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof and methods for the treatment of neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders, such as schizophrenia, cognitive impairment, and Alzheimer's disease.

A compound of formula I
- wherein
- R1 is a non aromatic heterocycle or OR′;
- R′ is lower alkyl, lower alkyl substituted by halogen, or —(CH2)n-cycloalkyl;
- R2 is NO2, CN or SO2R″;
- R″ is lower alkyl;
- Ar is phenyl, optionally substituted by halogen, cyano, lower alkyl substituted by halogen, or SO2R″;
- n is 0, 1 or 2;
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.

A pharmaceutical composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of formula I
- wherein
