Fault management system in multistage copy configuration

A data management method for a storage system in a computer system including the storage system,

• the storage system comprising:
• a primary logical volume in which data is stored;
• and an secondary logical volume in which a replication of the data stored in the primary logical volume is stored,
• the primary logical volume and the secondary logical volume forming a pair,
• the data management method comprising the steps of:
• obtaining an event regarding the pair;
• determining whether the event is caused by a fault occurring in the pair;
• determining data made to be inconsistent by the fault, in a case where the event is caused by the fault;
• and
• outputting information regarding the inconsistent data.

A data management method of a storage system in a computer system including the storage system,

• the storage system comprising:
• a primary logical volume in which data is stored and an secondary logical volume in which a replication of the data stored in the primary logical volume is stored,
• the primary logical volume and the secondary logical volume forming a pair,
• the computer system including management information,
• the data management method comprising the steps of:
• obtaining an event regarding the pair;
• determining whether the event is caused by a fault occurring in the pair;
• determining a correspondence relationship between the secondary logical volume changed by a change in the pair status of the pair and the data stored in the secondary logical volume, in a case where the event is not caused by the fault occurring in the pair;
• and
• updating the management information with reference to the determined correspondence relationship.
