A medical device inserted into a blood vessel through a tube, the medical device comprising:
- an external support device (ESD) applied around a portion of the medical device in proximity to the tube.
A kit comprising:
- (a) a medical device adapted for insertion into a blood vessel through a tube;
- and
- (b) an external support device (ESD) applicable around a portion of the medical device.
A method of advancing a medical device into the body through a previously installed tube, the method comprising applying an external support device (ESD) to a portion of the medical device to which an axial force is to be applied.
