Bicyclo compound, method for producing fused aromatic compound using the same and method for forming film of the same

A method for producing a pentacene compound comprising a step of photolytically decomposing 6,13-ethanopentacene-6,13-dione represented by formula (2):

• wherein R2 and R4 each denotes a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an ester group or a phenyl group;
• and R5 to R12 each denotes one or more substituents selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group, a phenoxy group, a cyano group, a nitro group, an ester group and a halogen atom.

A method for forming a patterned film of a pentacene compound comprising writing a pattern on a film of 6,13-ethanopentacene-6,13-dione represented by formula (2) by light irradiation:

• wherein R2 and R4 each denotes a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an ester group or a phenyl group;
• and R5 to R12 each denotes one or more substituents selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryl group, an aralkyl group, a phenoxy group, a cyano group, a nitro group, an ester group and a halogen atom.
