Abstract
A method for curing a chemical composition, the composition containing at least one or more binders having ethylenically unsaturated groups, as well as one or more initiators for triggering a radical polymerization. The method includes a thermal curing step, in which the curing of the composition is effected by a radical polymerization of the binder, which is triggered by a thermal initiator and is carried out under protective gas. Paint films having improved mechanical properties can be produced using the method according to the present invention.
Claims16
A method for curing a composition containing at least one binder having ethylenically unsaturated groups and at least one initiator for triggering a radical polymerization, the method comprising:
- performing a thermal curing step at least partially under a protective gas, wherein thermal curing of the composition is effected by a radical polymerization of the at least one binder triggered by a thermal initiator.
A method for painting an object, the method comprising:
- curing a composition containing at least one or more binders having ethylenically unsaturated groups, wherein the curing is performed by triggering a radical polymerization of the binder using a thermal initiator so as to effect a thermal curing of the composition, wherein the triggering is performed at least partially under exposure to a protective gas;
- and
- painting the object using the composition.
