A method for crosslinking a carboxylated polymer using a triazine crosslinking activator.
Claims20
A method for crosslinking a carboxylated polymer, comprising
- (a) treating a carboxylated polymer having a plurality of carboxyl groups with a triazine crosslinking activator in an aqueous solvent to provide an activated carboxylated polymer;
- (b) reacting the activated carboxylated polymer in an aqueous solvent with an amine compound having at least one amino group reactive toward an activated carboxyl group of the activated carboxylated polymer to form a plurality of amide bonds to provide a crosslinked carboxylated polymer.
