Method of crosslinking a mixture of carboxylated polymers using a triazine crosslinking activator

A method for crosslinking carboxylated polymers, comprising

• (a) treating a mixture of a first carboxylated polymer having a plurality of carboxyl groups and a second carboxylated polymer having a plurality of carboxyl groups with a triazine crosslinking activator in an aqueous solvent to provide a mixture of first and second activated carboxylated polymers;
• (b) reacting said first and second activated carboxylated polymers in an aqueous solvent with an amine compound having at least one amino group reactive toward an activated carboxyl group of the first and second activated carboxylated polymers to form a plurality of amide bonds to provide a crosslinked carboxylated polymer.
