Abstract
A mixed polymer network made from reacting a carboxyalkyl cellulose and a synthetic water-soluble polymer with a crosslinking agent.
Claims20
A composition, obtainable from reacting a carboxyalkyl cellulose and a synthetic water-soluble polymer having carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid derivative substituents with a crosslinking agent, wherein the crosslinking agent reacts with at least one of the carboxyalkyl cellulose or water-soluble polymer.
A composition obtainable from a method comprising:
- (a) treating a carboxyalkyl cellulose and a synthetic water-soluble polymer with a crosslinking agent to provide a reaction mixture, wherein the water-soluble polymer comprises a polymer having carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid derivative substituents;
- and
- (b) crosslinking the reaction mixture to provide the composition.
A composition, obtainable from the reaction of a carboxyalkyl cellulose and a synthetic water-soluble polymer having carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid derivative substituents with two crosslinking agents, wherein each crosslinking agent reacts with at least one of the carboxyalkyl cellulose or water-soluble polymer.
