Abstract
A divided connector has a cover (70) that is mounted on a frame (10) in a direction orthogonal to an inserting direction of auxiliary housings (40) into the frame (10). Latches (71) on the inner surfaces of the cover (70) contact guide surfaces (42B) of an insufficiently inserted auxiliary housing (40) to push the auxiliary housing (40) to a proper position and doubly lock the auxiliary housing (40).
Claims10
A divided connector (F) comprising:
- a frame (10) having at least one accommodating chamber (11) therein;
- at least one auxiliary housing (40) mountable in the accommodating chamber (11) along an inserting direction (ID);
- and
- at least one cover (70) mountable to a mounting surface of the frame (10) along an operating direction (OD) intersecting the inserting direction (ID) of the auxiliary housing (40), at least one latch (71) formed on the cover (70) and disposed to move substantially along a surface of the auxiliary housing (40) during a movement of the cover (70) if the auxiliary housing (40) is located properly in the frame (11), the latch (71) interfering with the auxiliary housing (40) if the auxiliary housing (40) is inserted insufficiently in the frame (11).
1 more element
A method of assembling a divided connector (F), comprising the:
- inserting at least one auxiliary housing (40) along an inserting direction (ID) and into at least one accommodating chamber (11) in a frame (10):
- mounting a cover (70) to a mounting surface of the frame (10) along an operating direction (OD) that intersects the inserting direction (ID) so that at least one latch (71) of the cover (70) moves along a surface of the auxiliary housings (40) if the auxiliary housing (40) is located properly in the frame (11), while interfering with the auxiliary housing (40) if the auxiliary housing (40) is inserted insufficiently in the frame (11).
