Abstract
The present invention encompasses methods and apparatus for aiding aneurysm repair.
Claims13
A method for stabilizing or treating an aneurysm at an aneurysmal site comprising:
- providing an endovascular stent graft having a coating comprising an anti-aneurysmal effective amount of at least one tetracycline-related compound in combination with at least one biodegradable polymer;
- deploying said stent graft at an aneurysmal site in a blood vessel;
- and
- wherein said tetracycline-related compound is released into an aneurismal sac in an amount sufficient to stabilize or treat said aneurysm.

A method for stabilizing or treating an aortic aneurysm comprising:
- providing an endovascular stent graft having a coating comprising an anti-aneurysmal effective amount of at least one tetracycline-related compound in combination with at least one biodegradable polymer;
- deploying said stent graft within the aorta adjacent an aortic aneurysm positioned such that an aneurysmal sac associated with said aortic aneurysm is covered by said endovascular stent graft having said coating;
- and
- wherein said tetracycline-related compound is released into an aneurysmal sac in an amount sufficient to stabilize or treat said aortic aneurysm.
