Abstract
According to one embodiment, a system is disclosed. The system includes a chassis including a printed circuit board (PCB) and a battery pack. The battery pack includes a connector to enable the battery pack to couple to a PCB which is mounted either above the centerline of the battery pack connector and on or below the centerline of the battery pack power connector.
Claims22
A battery pack comprising:
- a housing;
- one or more battery cells mounted within the housing;
- and
- a connector having a contact to enable the battery pack to be reversed and flipped to couple to a multitude of printed circuit board (PCB) arrangements.
1 more element
A system comprising:
- a chassis including:
- a printed circuit board (PCB);
- and
- a battery pack having a connector to enable the battery pack to couple to the PCB if the PCB is mounted at the top of the chassis and if the PCB is mounted bottom of the chassis.
1 more element
A battery pack comprising:
- a housing to be inserted into a system chassis;
- one or more battery cells mounted within the housing perpendicular to the back of the chassis;
- and
- a thermally conductive material to surround each of the one or more battery cells to conduct heat from the housing.
1 more element
A system comprising:
- a chassis having an opening:
- and
- a battery pack having:
- one or more engagement points to enable the battery pack to be loaded into a bottom opening in the chassis;
- one or more recess components to latch the battery pack into the housing when loaded from a rear opening in the chassis;
- and
- a rail support to support the battery pack when loaded from a rear and bottom opening in the chassis.
4 more elements
A method comprising:
- mounting one or more battery cells within a battery pack housing perpendicular to the back of a computer system chassis;
- and
- surrounding each of the one or more battery cells with a thermally conductive material to conduct heat from the housing.
