An image scanning system having a scanner for scanning a paper document, a user operating terminal for enabling a user to operate the scanner and a server computer connected to the operating terminal through a network, said system comprising:
- the server computer comprises:
- a user interface provider which provides a user interface information, to the user operating terminal through the network, for enabling the user to operate the scanner at the user operating terminal, the user interface information includes a scanning instruction form for causing the scanner to scan the paper document and a destination selection form for causing the user to select a destination for sending an electronic document representing the scanned paper document;
- an operating information receiver which receives operating information as a response to the provided user interface information from the user operating terminal through the network;
- a command sender which sends scanning command for causing the scanner to scan the paper document based on the received operating information to the user operating terminal through the network;
- a document receiver which receives the electronic document representing the scanned paper document from the user operating terminal through the network;
- and
- a document sender which sends the electronic document representing the scanned paper document to the destination corresponding the received operating information.
A controlling method of a server computer in an image scanning system having a scanner for scanning a paper document, a user operating terminal for enabling a user to operate the scanner and the server computer connected to the operating terminal through a network, said method comprising the steps of:
- providing a user interface information, to the user operating terminal through the network, for enabling the user to operate the scanner at the user operating terminal, the user interface information includes a scanning instruction form for causing the scanner to scan the paper document and a destination selection form for causing the user to select a destination for sending an electronic document representing the scanned paper document;
- receiving operating information as a response to the provided user interface information from the user operating terminal through the network;
- sending scanning command for causing the scanner to scan the paper document based on the received operating information to the user operating terminal through the network;
- receiving the electronic document representing the scanned paper document from the user operating terminal through the network;
- and
- sending the electronic document representing the scanned paper document to the destination corresponding the received operating information.
A computer readable program, stored in a storage medium, for controlling a server computer in an image scanning system having a scanner for scanning a paper document, a user operating terminal for enabling a user to operate the scanner and the server computer connected to the operating terminal through a network, said program comprising:
- program code for providing a user interface information, to the user operating terminal through the network, for enabling the user to operate the scanner at the user operating terminal, the user interface information includes a scanning instruction form for causing the scanner to scan the paper document and a destination selection form for causing the user to select a destination for sending an electronic document representing the scanned paper document;
- program code for receiving operating information as a response to the provided user interface information from the user operating terminal through the network;
- program code for sending scanning command for causing the scanner to scan the paper document based on the received operating information to the user operating terminal through the network;
- program code for receiving the electronic document representing the scanned paper document from the user operating terminal through the network;
- and
- program code for sending the electronic document representing the scanned paper document to the destination corresponding the received operating information.
