Abstract
A ceramic device comprises a substrate; a resistive element disposed on the substrate; and a protective coating disposed on the resistive element, wherein the protective coating comprises a M+3 metal oxide, a M+4 metal oxide, or a combination comprising at least one of the foregoing, and a phosphate.
Claims17
A ceramic device comprising:
- a substrate;
- a resistive element disposed on the substrate;
- and
- a protective coating disposed on the resistive element, wherein the protective coating comprises a M+3 metal oxide, a M+4 metal oxide, or a combination comprising at least one of the foregoing, and a phosphate.

A ceramic device comprising:
- a substrate;
- a resistive element disposed on the substrate;
- and
- a protective coating disposed on the resistive element, wherein the protective coating comprises a M+3 metal oxide, a M+4 metal oxide, or a combination comprising at least one of the foregoing, and a porosity-sealing component such that the protective coating comprises a porosity less than or equal to about 3.0%.
1 more element
A method of making a ceramic device comprising:
- forming a resistive element on a substrate;
- disposing a protective coating on the resistive element;
- and
- reducing a porosity of the protective coating by applying a phosphate to the protective coating.
