Collapsible bassinet/infant seat with canopy

A method for configuring a child support from a collapsed configuration to a deployed configuration, comprising the steps of:

• forming an annular rim including rotating one of a first upper frame and a second upper frame about a frame connector, the frame connector connecting the first upper frame to the second upper frame;
• deploying a lower frame, the lower frame including a ground engaging portion and a first portion connected to the frame connector;
• expanding a child receptacle which is connected to the annular rim, the child receptacle including soft goods and a support portion including first and second panels, including the step of configuring the child receptacle from a compact configuration whereby the soft goods are folded and the support portion is substantially adjacent the first and second upper frames to a bassinet configuration whereby the soft goods are unfolded to form annular walls;
• and
• configuring a support member from a first position to a second position, wherein when the support member is in the first position the first panel forms a first angle with the second panel and when the support member is in the second position the first panel forms a second angle with the second panel.

A method for configuring a child support from a collapsed configuration to a deployed configuration, comprising the steps of:

• providing a collapsed, upper support including a first upper frame member, a second upper frame, a frame connector connecting the first and second upper frames to each other at respective ends thereof such that at least one of the first and second upper frames are rotatable about the frame connector, and a child receptacle attached to the first and second upper frames, the child receptacle including soft goods and a first and second panel coupled to the soft goods, wherein the first upper frame is positioned substantially adjacent to the second upper frame, the first panel is positioned adjacent to the second panel and the soft goods are in a compact configuration;
• providing a collapsed, lower support including a ground engaging portion wherein a first end of the lower support is connected to the frame connector;
• deploying the upper support including the steps of:
• forming an annular rim including rotating one of the first and second upper frames about the frame connector,
• forming a bassinet shell including configuring the soft goods from the compact configuration to a bassinet configuration whereby the soft goods form an annular wall and the first and second panels are suspended from the annular rim by the soft goods,
• forming an inclined seat including configuring the first panel from a reclined position to an inclined position whereby when the first panel is in the reclined position the first panel forms a first angle with the second panel and a portion of soft goods located proximal the first panel are substantially taught, and when the first panel is in the inclined position the first panel forms a second angle with the second panel and the portion of soft goods located proximal the first panel is substantially folded;
• and
• deploying the lower support.
