Abstract
A system for wireless data communication between a vehicle and at least one of its tires (10), the system comprising a fixed antenna mounted on the vehicle and an antenna integral with the tire (10), the latter antenna being located in proximity with the tire's (10) belt. The characteristics of the tire belt are chosen in order to achieve an increased transmission distance.
Claims8
1- A system for data communication between a vehicle and at least one of its tires (10), the tire (10) comprising a belt consisting of at least two breaker plies (50,60) separated by a layer of rubber composition, the system comprising a fixed antenna mounted on the vehicle and an antenna integral with the tire (10), the latter antenna being located in proximity with the tire's (10) belt, wherein at least one of its breaker plies (50,60) consists of non metallic cords.
2- A system according to claim 1 wherein at most one of its breaker plies (50,60) consists of metallic cords.
3- The system of claim 1, wherein all the breaker plies (50,60) of the tire's (10) belt consist of non metallic cords.
4- A system for data communication between a vehicle and at least one of its tires (10), the tire (10) comprising a belt consisting of at least two breaker plies (50,60) separated by a layer of rubber composition, the system comprising a fixed antenna mounted on the vehicle and an antenna integral with the tire (10), the latter antenna being located in proximity with the tire's (10) belt, wherein the distance between adjacent breaker plies (50,60) made up of metallic cords (51,61) is greater than or equal to twice the diameter of the cords (51,61).
5- A system for data communication between a vehicle and at least one of its tires (10), the tire (10) comprising a belt consisting of at least two breaker plies (50,60) separated by a layer of rubber composition, the system comprising a fixed antenna mounted on the vehicle and an antenna integral with the tire (10), the latter antenna being located in proximity with the tire's (10) belt, wherein the resistance between any cord of a breaker ply (50) and any cord of an adjacent breaker ply (60) is greater than 20 kΩ.
6- The system of claim 5 wherein the capacity between any cord of a breaker ply (50) and any cord of an adjacent breaker ply (60) is less than 1 nF.
7- A system for data communication between a vehicle and at least one of its tires (10), the tire (10) comprising a belt consisting of at least two breaker plies (50,60) separated by a layer of rubber composition, the system comprising a fixed antenna mounted on the vehicle and an antenna integral with the tire (10), the latter antenna being located in proximity with the tire's (10) belt, wherein the capacity between any cord of a breaker ply (50) and any cord of an adjacent breaker ply (60) is less than 1 nF
8- A system for data communication between a vehicle and at least one of its tires (10), the tire (10) comprising a belt consisting of at least two breaker plies (50,60) separated by a layer of rubber composition, the system comprising a fixed antenna mounted on the vehicle and an antenna integral with the tire (10), the latter antenna being located in proximity with the tire's (10) belt, wherein the high frequency resistivity of the cords (51,61) of the breaker plies (50,60) is greater than 32 Ω/m at a frequency of 13.56 MHz.
