Claims22
A patient support apparatus comprising
- a frame,
- a plurality of casters coupled to the frame, at least one of the plurality of casters having a brake,
- a shaft that is rotatable to move the brake to brake and unbrake the respective caster,
- a rotatable lever, and
- a gear reducer coupled to the lever and coupled to the shaft.

A patient support apparatus comprising:
- a frame having a longitudinal length and a lateral width,
- a pair of laterally spaced casters coupled to the frame, each of the pair of casters having a brake,
- an axle coupled to the brake of each of the pair of casters and movable to brake and unbrake the pair of casters, the axle having end portions extending laterally beyond respective casters of the pair of casters, and
- a brake actuating bar having a pair of connecting portions each of which is coupled to a respective one of the end portions of the axle, the brake actuating bar having a step portion disposed between the pair of connecting portions, the brake actuating bar being movable to move the axle to brake and unbrake the pair of casters.
1 more element
A patient support apparatus comprising:
- a frame having a longitudinal length and a lateral width,
- a pair of laterally spaced casters coupled to the frame,
- a steering wheel coupled to the frame and movable between a raised position and a lowered position,
- an axle having end portions extending laterally beyond respective casters of the pair of casters, and
- a steer actuating bar having a pair of connecting portions each of which is coupled to a respective one of the end portions of the axle, the steer actuating bar having a step portion disposed between the pair of connecting portions, the steer actuating bar being movable to raise and lower the steering wheel.
2 more elements
A patient support apparatus comprising:
- a frame having a longitudinal length and a lateral width,
- a plurality of casters coupled to the frame, at least one of the casters having a brake,
- a shroud covering at least a portion of the frame and covering at least a portion of the plurality of casters,
- an axle coupled to the frame, the axle having end portions extending laterally beyond opposite sides of the shroud, and
- a brake actuating bar having a pair of connecting portions each of which is coupled to a respective one of the end portions of the axle, the brake actuating bar having a step portion disposed between the pair of connecting portions, the brake actuating bar being movable to move the axle to brake and unbrake the at least one caster.
2 more elements
A patient support apparatus comprising:
- a frame having a longitudinal length and a lateral width,
- a plurality of casters coupled to the frame,
- a shroud covering at least a portion of the frame and covering at least a portion of the plurality of casters,
- a steering wheel coupled to the frame and movable between a raised position and a lowered position,
- an axle coupled to the frame, the axle having end portions extending laterally beyond opposite sides of the shroud, and
- a steer actuating bar having a pair of connecting portions each of which is coupled to a respective one of the end portions of the axle, the steer actuating bar having a step portion disposed between the pair of connecting portions, the steer actuating bar being movable to raise and lower the steering wheel.
