Abstract
A method and a system for entering data (12-15) in a data processing system is provided. In this case, the data is entered in a number of steps, with a view being displayed at a step in a display region of a display means, with the entering and/or display taking place in subsequent steps at least partially as a function of the data entered in one or a number of preceding steps. To design the step-by-step entering of data in a more user friendly manner, it is proposed to simultaneously display the views of a number of consecutive steps in the display region.

A method for entering data in a data processing system having a display unit, comprising:
- providing a plurality of steps expecting user input;
- providing a plurality of views, each view associated to one of the plurality of steps;
- and
- displaying the plurality of views in a display region on the display unit.
A system for entering data in a data processing system, comprising:
- a display unit having a display region;
- a plurality of steps expecting data;
- and
- a plurality of views each associated with at least one of the plurality of steps, the views displayed concurrently in the display region.
A computer program product for allowing data to be entered in a data processing system, the product stored on a computer readable medium having instructions for executing a method, comprising:
- providing a plurality of steps expecting user input;
- providing a plurality of views, each view associated to one of the plurality of steps;
- and
- concurrently displaying the plurality of views in a display region on the display unit.
