Guidance information system and portable device

A guidance information system comprising:

• at least one portable device including an image pickup section and the function of decoding coded-pattern information captured by the image pickup section;
• and
• a display having a display surface that displays information indicative of a destination point in a display form according to the coding system of coded-pattern information for use in the portable device, wherein
• the portable device includes:
• a relative-position detection section that detects the relative change of the position of the portable device without contact;
• a destination-position-information obtaining section that decodes specified coded-pattern information captured by the image pickup section to obtain the coordinate-position information of the destination point on the earth;
• a map-information obtaining section that obtains map information corresponding to the coordinate-position information on the earth obtained by the destination-position-information obtaining section;
• a present-position-information generating section that obtains information on the present position of the portable device on the basis of the output of the relative-position detection section;
• and
• a guidance-information generating section that generates guidance information for guidance from the present position to the destination point on the basis of various information including the coordinate-position information on the earth obtained by the destination-position-information obtaining section, the map information obtained by the map-information obtaining section, and the information on the present position of the portable device generated by the present-position-information generating section.
