Disposable wearing article

A disposable wearing article comprising:

• a front waist region;
• a rear waist region;
• a crotch region extending between said waist regions;
• a pair of transversely extending ends;
• a pair of longitudinally extending side edges;
• a pair of leak-barrier sheets laid on a body-side surface of at least said crotch region of said front and rear waist regions and said crotch region, said leak-barrier sheets comprising proximal zones lying along said side edges of said article so as to extend in a longitudinal direction, elasticized distal zones extending in the longitudinal direction and normally biased to rise up above said body-side surface and fixed longitudinal ends of said distal zones and directed in a transverse direction;
• a first band attached to said distal zones of said leak-barrier sheets so as to extend between said distal zones in order to pull said distal zones toward each other in the transverse direction, said first band being located in said crotch region aside toward said front waist region;
• and
• a dimension by which first distal edge segments of said distal zones extending forward from said first band in the longitudinal direction being spaced from each other is gradually enlarged from a side of said first band toward a side of said front waist region and a maximum dimension by which said first distal edge segments are spaced from each other is larger than a maximum dimension by which second distal edge segments of said distal zones extending rearward from said first band are spaced from each other.
