Abstract
The invention relates to a halide-containing alkali tungstate catalyst for the synthesis of alkylmercaptans from alkanols and hydrogen sulfide, and to a process for the preparation of this catalyst.
Claims32
Catalyst comprising alkali tungstate, wherein the alkali tungstate contains at least one halide, with the proviso that the alkali metal, and the halide, is selected from at least one element of the respective group of the Periodic Table of Elements.
Process according to claim 27, wherein in the case of repeated impregnation, the impregnation solution used first contains from one to two thirds of the intended total amount of alkali metal and tungsten compounds.
