Abstract
A hydrophilically modified polyol compounds, compositions including the hydrophilically modified polyol compounds and methods of using such compositions and process of making such compositions for anti-redeposition and hydrophobic soil cleaning benefits.
Claims29
A composition comprising:
- a) from about 0.005% to about 30% of one or more hydrophilically modified polyol compounds comprising from 5 to 11 hydroxy moieties wherein at least one hydroxy moiety further comprises one or more ethoxy moiety;
- the one or more ethoxy moiety further comprising an anionic capping unit, a cationic capping unit, or a mixture thereof;
- wherein the overall average charge on the hydrophilically modified polyol compound is about −4 to about +4;
- b) a surfactant system comprising from about 9% to about 25% by weight of the composition of C10-C15 linear alkyl benzene sulfonate and from 0% to about 7% by weight of the composition of a co-surfactant selected from nonionic surfactants, anionic surfactants, cationic surfactants, and mixtures thereof.

A process of making a composition comprising the steps of:
- a) hydrophilically modifying a polyol compound such that the overall charge is from about +3 to about −3, resulting in a hydrophilically modified polyol compound;
- b) mixing the hydrophilically modified polyol compound with a surfactant system comprising from about 9% to about 25% by weight of the composition of C10-C15 linear alkyl benzene sulfonate and from 0% to about 7% by weight of the composition of a co-surfactant selected from nonionic surfactants, anionic surfactants, cationic surfactants, and mixtures thereof.
A hydrophilically modified polyol compound comprising from 5 to 11 hydroxy moieties wherein at least one hydroxy moiety further comprises one or more ethoxy moiety;
- the one or more ethoxy moiety further comprising an anionic capping unit, a cationic capping unit, or a mixture thereof;
- wherein the overall charge on the hydrophilically modified polyol compound is about −4 to about +4.
