Abstract

Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for originating a call using the latest communication records in a mobile communication terminal. The apparatus and the method include enabling a user to originate a call with a desired type of a phone number based on the latest communication records provided. The apparatus and the method displays at least one phone number which corresponds to a name, on a latest communication record image displayed on a display unit of a mobile communication terminal. The phone number can be displayed as an icon and may be classified into an office phone number, a home phone number, a cellular phone number, etc. The apparatus and the method further provide for the display of different phone number types for a selected recipient for communication on a latest communication record image and enable selective call origination based on the latest communication records when the mobile communication terminal originates a call.
