Abstract
The disclosed embodiments provide methods and systems for synchronizing a transmitter and a receiver. In one embodiment, a method for synchronizing a transmitter and a receiver includes the transmitter performing a reset operation, and the receiver responding by performing a reset operation. In another embodiment, a method for synchronizing a transmitter and a receiver includes the receiver performing a reset operation, and the transmitter responding by performing a reset operation. The reset indicator includes toggling a reset indicator.
Claims18
A method of synchronizing a transmitter (Tx) and a receiver (Rx), wherein the Tx initiates the synchronization and the Rx responds to the synchronization, the method comprising:
- performing a Tx reset operation;
- making a Tx indication of the performed Tx initialization, wherein said making the Tx indication comprises toggling a Tx reset indicator;
- comparing a received Tx indication of a performed Tx reset operation with an existing Rx indication;
- and
- performing an Rx reset operation, if the received Tx indication is different from the existing Rx indication.
A method of resetting a transmitter (Tx), the method comprising:
- performing a Tx initialization;
- and
- making a Tx indication of the performed Tx initialization, wherein said making the Tx indication comprises toggling a Tx reset indicator.
A method of responding by a receiver (Rx) to a reset operation performed by a transmitter (Tx), the method comprising:
- comparing a received Tx indication with an existing Rx indication;
- performing an Rx initialization, if the received Tx indication is different from the existing Rx indication;
- and
- making an Rx indication of the performed Rx initialization, wherein said making the Rx indication comprises toggling a Rx reset indicator.
A method of resetting a Receiver (Rx), the method comprising:
- performing an Rx initialization;
- and
- making an Rx indication of the performed Rx initialization, wherein said making the Rx indication comprises toggling a Rx rest indicator.
A method of responding by a transmitter (Tx) to a reset operation performed by a receiver (Rx), the method comprising:
- receiving a request for synchronization;
- determining whether the received request is valid;
- performing a Tx initialization, if the received request is valid;
- and
- making a Tx indication of the performed Tx initialization, wherein said making the Tx indication comprises toggling a Tx reset indicator.
