Compact and high performance opto-mechanical switch

A 2×2 opto-mechanical switch comprising:

• two substantially 45 degree prisms for providing beam separation;
• a parallel prism for receiving the beam from two substantially 45 degree prisms;
• a plurality of collimators for directing the beam from the plurality of prisms;
• an arm coupled to the parallel prism;
• and
• a relay coupled to the arm.

A 2×2 opto-mechanical switch comprising:

• four substantially 45 degree prisms for providing beam separation;
• a parallel prism for receiving the beam from the four substantially 45 degree prisms;
• a plurality of collimators for directing the beam from the four 45 degree prisms;
• an arm coupled to the parallel prism;
• and
• a relay coupled to the arm.

A 2×2 opto-mechanical switch comprising:

• two wedge prisms for providing beam separation by converting two parallel beams into two beams with an angle;
• a parallel prism for receiving the beam from the two wedge prisms;
• a plurality of collimators for directing the beam from the plurality of prisms, wherein the plurality of collimators output beam matches the beam angle from the wedge prisms;
• an arm coupled to the parallel prism;
• and
• a relay coupled to the arm.
