Abstract
A method in a data processing system for managing jobs. A change to a job receiving that is un-instantiated. A reservation for the job is created. Instantiated jobs for an instance of the job are monitored corresponding to the reservation, and applying the change to the instance of the job responsive to identifying the instantiated job.
Claims20
A method in a data processing system for managing jobs, the method comprising:
- receiving a change to a job that is un-instantiated;
- creating a reservation for the job in response to receiving the change to the job;
- monitoring instantiated jobs for an instance of the job corresponding to the reservation subsequent to creating the reservation;
- and
- responsive to identifying the instance of the job during the monitoring of instantiated jobs, applying the change to the instance of the job.
A data processing system in a data processing system for managing jobs, the data processing system comprising:
- receiving means for receiving a change to a job that is un-instantiated;
- creating means for creating a reservation for the job in response to receiving the change to the job;
- monitoring means for monitoring instantiated jobs for an instance of the job corresponding to the reservation subsequent to creating the reservation;
- and
- applying means, responsive to identifying the instance of the job during the monitoring of instantiated jobs, for applying the change to the instance of the job.
A computer program product in a data processing system for managing jobs, the computer program product comprising:
- first instructions for receiving a change to a job that is un-instantiated;
- second instructions for creating a reservation for the job in response to receiving the change to the job;
- third instructions for monitoring instantiated jobs for an instance of the job corresponding to the reservation subsequent to creating the reservation;
- and
- fourth instructions, responsive to identifying the instance of the job during the monitoring of instantiated jobs, for applying the change to the instance of the job.
