Abstract
A technique includes pulse width modulating a beam of a light to establish a pixel intensity. The technique includes controlling a light source to modulate an illumination of the beam to create different tonal resolution ranges for the pixel intensity.
Claims28
A method comprising:
- pulse width modulating an illuminating beam of a light to establish a pixel intensity;
- and
- controlling a light source to modulate the illuminating beam to create different tonal resolution ranges for the pixel intensity.
An apparatus comprising:
- a spatial light modulator to modulate an illuminating beam of light to establish a pixel intensity;
- and
- a light source to modulate the illuminating beam to create different tonal resolution ranges for the pixel intensity.
An article comprising a machine accessible storage medium, the storage medium storing instructions to cause the machine to:
- control a light source illuminating a spatial light modulator to modulate an illumination of the beam to create different tonal resolution ranges for a pixel intensity formed by the spatial light modulator.
A method comprising:
- estimating a human visual response to a projected image;
- and
- controlling an illumination of the image in response to the estimation.
An article comprising a machine accessible storage medium storing instructions to cause a machine to:
- estimate a human visual response to a projected image;
- and
- control an illumination of the image in response to the estimation.
An apparatus comprising:
- an estimator to estimate a human visual response to a projected image;
- and
- controller to control an illumination of the image in response to the estimation.
A system comprising:
- a wireless interface to receive data indicative of a pixel intensity;
- a spatial light modulator to modulate a beam of light to establish the pixel intensity in response to the data;
- and
- a light source to modulate an illumination of the beam to create different resolution ranges for the pixel intensity.
The system of claim 29, wherein the light source modulates the illumination to establish a first resolution for a first range of pixel intensities and a second resolution smaller than the first resolution for a second range of pixel intensities, the pixel intensities in the second range being brighter than the pixel intensities in the first range.
