Abstract
There is provided an image display device which can control image retention-preventing means in a static image displaying part, according to a change with the passage of time in a luminance difference. The drive of the image retention-preventing means is cancelled when accumulated elapsed-time during which the luminance difference is returned to approximately an original value elapses.
Claims14
An image display device for displaying images, comprising a control section which controls luminance of specific regions, the control section being constructed such that the control section stops the control of the luminance according to accumulated drive-time of the image display device.
An image display device that displays images by utilizing phosphors, the image display device comprising:
- a detection section which detects whether or not the images contain static images;
- an accumulated elapsed-time counting section which counts accumulated time elapsing during the static images are detected by the detection section;
- and
- a control section which controls luminance due to degradation of the phosphors, the control section being adapted to carry out the control so as to stop the control of the luminance according to accumulated drive-time counted by the accumulated elapsed-time counting section.
An image display device for displaying images, comprising:
- an image processing section which corrects a luminance level from inputted luminance data;
- a memory which stores luminance correction data for correction of luminance in the image processing section;
- and
- a CPU which carries out control so that the image processing section corrects the luminance utilizing the luminance data stored in the memory, the CPU being adapted to carry out the control so as to stop the correction of the luminance according to time elapsing during image displaying by the image display device.
An image display device for displaying images, comprising:
- a time counting section which counts drive time;
- and
- a control section which controls luminance of predetermined specific regions based on counted time counted by the time counting section, wherein when the counted time exceeds a predetermined time, the control section stops the control of the luminance in the predetermined specific regions.
