Abstract
The present invention is a chipset for an isolated power supply having an innovative oscillator. Preferably, the present invention includes a primary controller and a secondary controller. The primary controller can have the control and drive circuitry for the chipset. The secondary controller can provide rectification signals that can be synchronized with a power MOSFET.
Claims18
A chipset for isolated power supplies comprising:
- a primary controller having the control and drive circuitry;
- and
- a secondary controller to provide rectification signals coupled to the primary controller.
A chipset comprising:
- a primary controller having the control and drive circuitry of the chipset comprising:
- a band gap circuit for providing an accurate reference within the primary controller;
- a soft start circuit coupled to the band gap circuit;
- a pulse width modulating and over-current circuit coupled to the soft start circuit;
- and
- an oscillator adapted to produce a frequency up to 1 MHz;
- and
- a secondary controller to provide rectification signals coupled to the primary controller comprising:
- a band gap circuit for providing an accurate reference within the secondary controller;
- and
- at least one comparator;
- wherein the chipset enables a programmable synchronous rectifier to configure a plurality of inductors for delivering current to a load.
