Abstract
A cartridge carrier has a base with a recessed plate, a top surface, and a bottom surface. An locking ejection mechanism is coupled to the base. A guide may be coupled to the top surface of the base to receive the cartridge and an interposer board may be coupled to the guide.
Claims24
A cartridge carrier, comprising:
- a base having a recessed plate, a top surface, and a bottom surface;
- a guide coupled to the top surface of said base;
- an interposer board coupled to said guide;
- and
- an ejection mechanism coupled to said base, said ejection mechanism comprising a locking mechanism.
A lockable ejection system, for use with transportable media for storing electronic data and a computer system comprising means to selectively connect to said transportable media and transfer electronic data between said computer system and said transportable media and disconnect from said transportable media, said lockable ejection system comprising:
- an ejection mechanism coupled to said computer system to connect said transportable media to said computer and to eject said transportable media from said computer system;
- and,
- a locking mechanism coupled to said ejection mechanism to selectively prevent said ejection mechanism from ejecting the transportable media.
A method to prevent unintentional ejection of transportable media from a computer system, the method comprising:
- engaging a locking eject button so that a user cannot eject the transportable media unless the user disengages the locking mechanism.
A method to prevent unintentional ejection of transportable media from a computer system, using a locking eject button, the method comprising:
- engaging the locking eject button by moving the locking eject button in a first direction until the locking eject button engages a locking mechanism.
A method to prevent unintentional ejection of transportable media from a computer system, and to allow intentional ejection, using a locking eject button, the method comprising:
- engaging the locking eject button by moving the locking eject button in a first direction until the locking eject button engages a locking mechanism;
- and
- thereafter disengaging the locking eject button to allow ejection of the transportable media.
