Reliable updating for a service oriented architecture

A system for configuring a service proxy, comprising:

• a logic capable of performing the following steps:
• providing a configuration information to a plurality of service bus segments;
• accepting responses from each of the plurality of service bus segments, wherein each of the responses indicates whether or not the configuration information can be successfully applied to that particular service bus segment;
• and
• instructing the plurality of service bus segments to either commit the configuration or to cancel the configuration, wherein the instruction to commit the configuration is provided if each accepted response indicates that the configuration information can be successfully applied.

A computer readable medium having instructions stored thereon which when executed cause the computer to perform the steps of:

• providing a configuration information to a plurality of service bus segments;
• accepting responses from each of the plurality of service bus segments, wherein each of the responses indicates whether or not the configuration information can be successfully applied to that particular service bus segment;
• and
• instructing the plurality of service bus segments to either commit the configuration or to cancel the configuration, wherein the instruction to commit the configuration is provided if each accepted response indicates that the configuration information can be successfully applied.
