Abstract
Medical devices, such as endoprostheses, and methods of making the devices are disclosed. In some embodiments, an endoprosthesis includes a first portion having a first width, and a second portion having a second width different than the first width, wherein the first and second portions have different grain sizes.
Claims42
An endoprosthesis, comprising:
- a first portion having a first width;
- and
- a second portion having a second width different than the first width,
- wherein the first and second portions have different grain sizes.

- a band having a first grain size;
- and
- an elongated portion extending from the band, the elongated portion having a second grain size different than the first grain size.
An endoprosthesis, comprising:
- a first portion having a first width;
- and

- wherein the first and second portions have different yield strengths.

A method of making an endoprosthesis, comprising:
- forming a first portion of the endoprosthesis to have a first grain size;
- and
- forming a second portion of the endoprosthesis to have a second grain size different than the first grain size.

- forming a first portion of the endoprosthesis to have a first yield strength;
- and
- forming a second portion of the endoprosthesis to have a second yield strength different than the first yield strength.
