Abstract
The present invention provides a method to treat multiple myeloma by the administration of one or more p38 MAP kinase inhibitor(s).
Claims17
A method to treat multiple myeloma in a subject, comprising:
- administering to a subject in need of such treatment a therapeutically effective amount of a p38 inhibitor, whereby a symptom associated with multiple myeloma is ameliorated.
A method of inhibiting cytokine secretion from multiple myeloma (MM) cells, comprising:
- providing a p38 MAP kinase inhibitor to a MM cell, whereby the secretion rate of a MM-related cytokine is reduced as compared to the secretion rate of a MM-related cytokine of untreated MM cells.
A method of potentiating a chemotherapeutic agent for the treatment of multiple myeloma (MM), comprising:
- identifying an individual containing one or more MM cells;
- and
- providing a p38 MAP kinase inhibitor to the individual, whereby the one or more MM cells are more sensitive to the chemotherapeutic agent than in the absence of the p p38 MAP kinase inhibitor.
