A training tool comprising a substantially elongate hollow space enclosed by a holder, the elongate hollow space being at least partly filled with an amount of freely movable particles, substantially all of the particles being configured to provide a reactive impact when the particles collide during acceleration and deceleration.

A method for mechanically loading connective tissue of a user comprising:

- operatively associating the holder with the connective tissue of a user;
- accelerating and decelerating the freely movable particles along a lengthwise axis of the elongate hollow space by user actuation of the connective tissue;
- and
- controlling a reaction force applied by the particles to the connective tissue by applying part of the reactive force directly upon user actuation and part of the reactive force upon a delay.
