Abstract
A non-aqueous electrolyte having improved lithium ion conductivity and excellent voltage resistance is provided. A lithium rechargeable battery and a rechargeable battery system including the inventive non-aqueous electrolyte is also provided. The non-aqueous electrolyte includes at least one aromatic compound which is polymerizable at a working electrode potential of 4.2 to 4.5 V when a lithium metal is used as a counter electrode and platinum is used as a working electrode.
Claims16
A non-aqueous electrolyte for a lithium rechargeable battery, the electrolyte comprising at least one aromatic compound polymerizable at a potential ranging from about 4.2 to about 4.5 V.
A non-aqueous electrolyte for a lithium rechargeable battery, the electrolyte comprising a fluorinated organic compound selected from the group consisting of compounds represented by Formula 1, compounds represented by Formula 2 and mixtures thereof:
- R1—O—R2 (1)
- R1—O—CO—O—R2 (2)
- wherein R1 and R2 are each selected from the group consisting of alkyl groups and fluoro alkyl groups.
