Abstract
Embodiments of the present invention comprise systems, methods and devices for Imaging Device Access Control.
Claims19
A method for imaging device notification subscription access control, said method comprising:
- a) sending a subscription request from a subscribing application to a notification application on an imaging device (IDev);
- b) sending a credential from said subscribing application to said notification application on an imaging device (IDev);
- c) wherein the successful authentication of said credential, when required, will authorize said subscription request and allow said notification application to send a notification to said subscribing application when an event described in said subscription request occurs.
A method for imaging device access control, said method comprising:
- a) sending an event subscription request from a subscribing application to a notification application on an imaging device (IDev);
- b) sending a credential from said subscribing application to said notification application on said imaging device (IDev);
- c) sending said credential from said notification application to an authentication application;
- d) authenticating said credential at said authentication application when said authenticating is required for said subscription request;
- and
- e) receiving a subscription for an event notification from said notification application when an event described in said subscription request occurs and when said authenticating is either required and successful or not required for said subscription request.

An apparatus for imaging device access control, said apparatus comprising:
- a) a subscribing application comprising;
- i) a subscribing sender for sending at least one of a subscription request and a credential,
- ii) a subscribing receiver for receiving an event notification, and
- iii) a credential for authenticating said subscription application;
- and
- b) a credential authenticator for authenticating said credential;
- c) wherein said subscribing sender may send said subscription request and said credential from said subscribing application to an IDev notification application;
- d) wherein said credential authenticator may authenticate said credential, when required for said subscription request;
- and
- e) wherein said notification application will be configured to send an event notification to said subscribing application receiver when an event described in said subscription request occurs and when said authentication is either required and successfully authenticated or not required for said subscription request
