Abstract
Embodiments of the present invention comprise systems, methods and devices for imaging device credential submission wherein credentials are extracted by scanning graphical indicia on user documents using a primary document scanner.
Claims20
A method for imaging device credential submission, said method comprising:
- a) scanning a document comprising graphical indicia at an imaging device (IDev) using a primary document scanner;
- b) extracting credentials from said graphical indicia at said IDev;
- c) sending said credentials to an authentication application at a remote computing device (RCD);
- and
- d) receiving an access authorization message from said RCD when said credentials are authenticated by said RCD.

A method for imaging device credential submission, said method comprising:
- a) scanning a document comprising graphical indicia at an imaging device (IDev) using a primary document scanner thereby creating a scanned image;
- b) sending said scanned image to a remote computing device (RCD) for extraction of user credential data and processing of said credential data;
- and
- c) receiving an authorization message from said RCD when said user credential data is authenticated.

An apparatus for imaging device credential submission, said apparatus comprising:
- a) a primary document scanner;
- b) a sender for sending data to a Remote Computing Device (RCD);
- and
- c) a receiver for receiving messages from said RCD;
- d) wherein said primary document scanner is capable of scanning documents comprising graphical indicia;
- and
- e) wherein said data comprises credential data for authentication of a user by said RCD.
