Methods of manufacturing a radially expandable stent, including radial expansion and axial elongation of a polymer tube, are disclosed.

A method for fabricating an implantable medical device comprising:
- radially deforming a polymeric tube about a cylindrical axis of the tube;
- axially deforming the tube along the cylindrical axis;
- and
- fabricating a stent from the radially and axially deformed tube.
