Abstract
The described embodiments relate to testing streaming media capture devices and/or computer systems. One exemplary method enumerates and tests multiple streaming media capture device which are operably associated with a computer. The method simultaneously exercises said computer's display and power states.
Claims35
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- enumerating streaming media capture devices coupled to a computer;
- interrogating an enumerated streaming media capture device to determine a media format which the enumerated streaming media capture device supports;
- causing the enumerated streaming media capture device to stream media in the supported format;
- and,
- providing feedback relating to the streamed media's compliance to the supported format.
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- streaming media to a computer from a streaming media capture device;
- simultaneously changing a display property associated with the computer, and,
- monitoring the streaming media capture device's response to said changing.
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- enumerating streaming media capture devices coupled to a computing device;
- determining power management levels of the computing device;
- and,
- testing an individual enumerated streaming media capture device while switching the computing device at least between a first power level and a second power level.
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- enumerating streaming media capture devices coupled to a computing device;
- simultaneously testing at least first and second enumerated streaming media capture devices and during said testing, ascertaining whether either of the first or second capture devices is decoupled from said computing device;
- in an event that either of the first or second capture devices is decoupled, pausing testing of said decoupled capture device while continuing testing of the other of the first and second capture devices;
- and,
- resuming said testing upon detecting a recoupling of said decoupled capture device.
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- streaming media from a streaming media capture device to a computer;
- monitoring for said capture device to be decoupled from and recoupled to the computer, and,
- monitoring said capture device's response to said decoupling and recoupling.
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- enumerating streaming media capture devices coupled to a computing device;
- ascertaining a topology of an individual enumerated streaming media capture device;
- and,
- testing the topology of the individual enumerated streaming media capture device.
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- enumerating and testing multiple streaming media capture devices which are operably associated with a computer;
- and,
- simultaneously exercising said computer's display and power states.
A system comprising:
- at least one streaming-media capture device;
- a computer configured to receive media from the streaming-media capture device;
- and,
- a test component configured to cause one or more properties associated with the computer to be changed and to simultaneously cause media to be streamed from the streaming-media capture device to the computer and wherein the test component is configured to evaluate a response of the streaming-media capture device to the property change.
A system comprising:
- means for ascertaining properties associated with a computing device;
- means for enumerating streaming-media capture devices communicatively coupled to the computing device;
- means for directing the computing device to change one or more of the properties;
- and,
- means for causing at least one enumerated streaming-media capture device to stream media to the computing device and to register a response of the at least one enumerated streaming-media capture device to the property change.
