Abstract
Substantially sodium ion-free, aqueous automatic dishwashing detergent compositions and compositions of matter, having potassium tripolyphosphate formed by in-situ hydrolysis, are provided.
Claims20
An automatic dishwashing detergent composition comprising:
- a) a suitable amount of potassium tripolyphosphate that is prepared by in-situ hydrolysis according to the formula:
- (KPO3)3+2KOH→K5P3O10+H2O, and
- b) at least one adjunct ingredient;
- wherein said composition is substantially sodium-ion free, and wherein said composition is aqueous.

A composition of matter for treating dishware comprising a wash liquor comprising an automatic dishwashing detergent composition comprising:
- (a) a potassium tripolyphosphate builder that is prepared by in-situ hydrolysis according to the formula:
- (KPO3)3+2KOH→K5P3O10+H2O, and
- (b) at least one adjunct ingredient;
- wherein said automatic dishwashing detergent composition is aqueous and substantially sodium-ion free;
- and wherein said wash liquor comprises from about 1,000 ppm to about 25,000 ppm of said potassium tripolyphosphate, by concentration.
