Abstract
An apparatus for blocking of redirection attempts by a home network when a mobile unit roams in a visited network. The apparatus comprises: a detector, configured for detecting a roaming transaction by a mobile unit of a visiting user and a respective redirection attempt of the mobile unit from the visited network by a home network of the visiting user, and further comprising a redirection blocker, associated with the detector and configured for blocking the redirection attempt.

Apparatus for blocking of redirection attempts by a home network when a mobile unit roams in a visited network, the apparatus comprising:
- a detector, configured for detecting:
- a) a roaming transaction by a mobile unit of a visiting user and
- b) a respective redirection attempt of said mobile unit from said visited network by a home network of said visiting user;
- and
- a redirection blocker, associated with said detector and configured for blocking said redirection attempt.
Method for blocking of redirection attempts by a home network when a mobile unit roams in a visited network, the method comprising:
- detecting:
- a) a roaming transaction by a mobile unit of a visiting user and
- b) a respective redirection attempt of said mobile unit from said visited network by a home network of said visiting user;
- and
- blocking said redirection attempt.
A Global Location Register (GLR), deployed in a visiting network, configured for receiving internal registration messages sent within the visited network when a visiting user changes his location within said visited network, and further configured for forwarding a single location registration message, with respect to said internal registration messages, to a home network of the visiting user, said single location registration message being composed to register the GLR address as a location of said visiting user, thereby to reduce opportunities for the home network to intervene with network selection.
Method for blocking of redirection attempts by a home network when a mobile unit roams in a visited network, the method comprising:
- recording received internal registration messages sent within the visited network when said mobile unit changes its location within said visited network in a Global Location Register (GLR), and
- forwarding a single location registration message, with respect to said internal registration messages, to a home network of the visiting user, said single location registration message being composed to register the GLR address as a location of said mobile unit, thereby to reduce opportunities for the home network to intervene with network selection.
