Abstract
A data line driving circuit connected to data lines includes a bit shift unit that outputs input digital data composed of a plurality of bits for defining the brightness of pixels or bit-shifts the plurality of bits to lower levels to output them, based on a control signal, and a supply unit that supplies the output digital data of the bit shift unit to a D/A conversion unit. The D/A conversion unit supplies gray-scale signals obtained by D/A converting the output digital data of the supply unit to the data lines.
Claims11
A data line driving circuit connected to data lines comprising:
- a bit shift unit that outputs input digital data composed of a plurality of bits for defining the brightness of pixels, or that bit-shifts the plurality of bits to lower levels to output them, based on a control signal;
- and
- a supply unit that supplies the output digital data of the bit shift unit to a D/A conversion unit,
- wherein the D/A conversion unit supplies gray-scale signals obtained by D/A converting the output digital data of the supply unit to the data lines.
A data line driving method of an electro-optical device including data lines, scanning lines, and pixel circuits respectively having electro-optical elements which are provided at intersections of the data lines and the scanning lines and whose brightness is controlled by a current supplied through the data lines, comprising:
- outputting input digital data which is composed of a plurality of bits for defining the brightness of pixels or bit-shifting the plurality of bits to lower levels to output them, as output digital data, based on a control signal;
- and
- supplying gray-scale signals obtained by D/A converting the output digital data to the data lines.
