Crew rest module and method of forming same

A crew rest module adapted for use on a mobile platform, comprising:

• a peripheral wall structure defining a crew rest area;
• an elevated platform structurally coupled to said peripheral wall and forming a floor for said crew rest area so as to space said crew rest area above a floor of said mobile platform;
• at least a partial wall dividing said crew rest area into first and second laterally adjacent, generally equally sized rest compartments and providing a degree of privacy to individuals occupying said rest compartments;
• and
• first and second stairways leading from said floor of said mobile platform to said elevated platform for providing separate ingress and egress to and from each of said first and second crew rest compartments.

A crew rest module adapted for use on a mobile platform, comprising:

• a peripheral wall structure at least partially defining a crew rest area;
• an elevated platform structurally coupled to said peripheral wall and forming a floor for an upper crew rest compartment;
• so as to space said upper crew rest compartment above a floor of said mobile platform;
• said floor defining a lower crew rest compartment below said upper crew rest compartment;
• each of said upper and lower crew rest compartments having a seat and an adjacent berth;
• and
• a stairway leading from said floor of said mobile platform to said upper crew rest compartment for providing ingress and egress to and from said upper crew rest compartment.

A method of forming a crew rest module for use within a mobile platform, comprising:

• forming at least a partial enclosure via a plurality of interconnected walls;
• forming a first crew rest compartment within said enclosure;
• forming a second crew rest compartment within said enclosure below said first crew rest compartment;
• further locating within each of said first and second crew rest compartments at least one of a seat and a berth;
• disposing one of said first and second crew rest compartments elevationally above a floor of said mobile platform;
• and
• providing a stairway leading to said first crew rest compartment.
