Abstract
A signal from a tuner 22a is outputted to a primary display 2. An analog signal from a tuner 22b is digitally compressed, subjected to an encrypting process, transmitted to a secondary display 3 by a wireless LAN, and displayed by an LCD 46 of the secondary display 3. An output of a digital tuner 23 is displayed by the primary display 2. A video signal of 480I is transmitted to the secondary display 3. A signal inputted through the Internet is decoded and sent to the primary display 2. The signal is sent to the secondary display 3 as it is in the compressed state without being decoded and the decoding process is executed in the secondary display 3.
Claims15
A receiving apparatus comprising:
- a television receiving apparatus which has a primary display and can receive and monitor both of a broadcast and an Internet;
- and a secondary display apparatus having a function for communicating with said television receiving apparatus, wherein,
- in the case of receiving an analog broadcast, a reception video signal is displayed onto said primary display, and when the reception video signal is sent to said secondary display, it is digitally compression encoded and sent to said secondary display apparatus,
- in the case of receiving a digital broadcast, the digitally compressed signal is decoded and displayed onto said primary display, and when it is sent to said secondary display, a decoded analog signal is encoded again and sent to said secondary display, and
- in the case of Internet reception, the reception signal is not decoded in said television receiving apparatus but sent to said secondary display apparatus.
A receiving method comprising:
- a television receiving apparatus which has a primary display and can receive and monitor both of a broadcast and an Internet;
- and a secondary display apparatus having a function for communicating with said television receiving apparatus, wherein,
- in the case of receiving an analog broadcast, a reception video signal is displayed onto said primary display, and when the reception video signal is sent to said secondary display, it is digitally compression encoded and sent to said secondary display apparatus,
- in the case of receiving a digital broadcast, the digitally compressed signal is decoded and displayed onto said primary display, and when it is sent to said secondary display, a decoded analog signal is encoded again and sent to said secondary display, and
- in the case of Internet reception, the reception signal is not decoded in said television receiving apparatus but sent to said secondary display apparatus.
A transmitting/receiving apparatus for communicating with a television broadcast receiving apparatus which can receive and monitor both of a broadcast and an Internet, comprising:
- display means which can perform a display for a commander for remote-controlling said television broadcast receiving apparatus;
- and
- means for generating a remote control signal on the basis of the display for the commander displayed by said display means,
- wherein a list of contents which can be selected by said television broadcast receiving apparatus is displayed by said display means.
